In 1919, The Commodore Hotel first opened, adjoining Grand Central Terminal. It evolved over the century, becoming the Grand Hyatt New York in 1980 after real estate developer Donald Trump, along with Hyatt, completely renovated the building.
Hyatt acquired Trump’s stake in the hotel in 1996. In 2023, when the façade of the 26-story building was in need of restoration, Royal was hired to make envelope improvements and repairs to the building maintenance units (BMUs). We also replaced the stucco on all the bulkheads and performed extensive work to reinforce the water tower.
